G-Star fashionshow at AIFW

Ieder jaar organiseert G-Star een speciale modeshow: Lichting. Getalenteerde, net afgestudeerde ontwerpers mogen hun collectie tonen aan een internationale modejury. Ontwerpster Sanne Schepers liep met de hoofdprijs, de 'G-Star Raw Talent Award' en een geldbedrag van € 10.000,-, weg.





Dit jaar was styliste en stijlicoon Catherine Baba één van de juryleden. Zij heeft bekende opdrachtgevers gehad, waaronder Chanel en tijdschriften als Vogue en Vanity Fair. Deze belangrijke dame had de volgende punten bovenaan haar lijst staan: functionaliteit, authenticiteit en afwerking van de collectie. Sanne Schepers voldeed aan deze eisen.

De collectie van Sanne Schepers had als basis het principe van een twinset, oftewel een twee-in-één outfit. Hierdoor ontwierp ze een collectie waarbij één kledingstuk maar liefst op vier manieren te dragen is. Opvallend waren de blote buikjes, hand afgewerkte details en felle kleuren.

Maar laten we de andere ontwerpers niet vergeten: Jenny Kloszynski, Amber Sophie Smidt en Menno Voortman. Ook van hen was de jury onder de indruk.

Every year G-Star organizes a special fashion show: Lichting. Talented, just graduated designers can show their collection to an international jury. Designer Sanne Schepers walked away with the first prize, the 'G-Star Raw Talent Award' and a money price of € 10.000,-.

This year stylist and style icon Catherine Baba was one of the judges. She has worked with important clients, under which Chanel and magazines Vogue and Vanity Fair. This important lady had a view points on her list: functionality, authenticity and finishing of the collection. Sanne Schepers met all these requirements. 

The collection of Sanne Schepers had the basics of the principal of a twinset, i.e. a two-in-one outfit. She designed her collection where there were clothes that you can wear in four different ways. Remarkable were the nude bellies, by hand finished details and bright colours. 

But let's not forget the other designers: Jenny Kloszynski, Amber Sophie Smidt and Menno Voortman. They impressed the jury as well.
