Dorhout Mees fall/ winter collection: Ballets Russes

Naamgenoot Esther Dorhout Mees danste ooit op grote podia in Londen, Milaan en Parijs als ballerina. Nu heeft ze haar energie en creativiteit gestoken in haar herfst/ winter collectie. Haar oude dansleven was dé inspiratiebron voor ‘Ballets Russes’.

Bij ballet draait het om vrouwelijkheid. Daarom heeft haar najaarscollectie prachtige details zoals grote, hangende strikken en neerwaartse lijnen. Zijde in combinatie met crêpe georgette is één van de luxe stoffen die zij heeft gebruikt. De gehele collectie heeft naast het basic kleuren zwart en grijs, ook typische zachte kleuren die zo kenmerkend zijn voor ballet zoals zachtroze en ivoor. 

Pantalons met hoge tailles, zwierige jurkjes en bijzondere jumpsuits. Alle items zitten nauw om het lichaam gesloten maar hebben ook losse elementen die mooi om het lichaam worden gedrapeerd.  

De collectie is een lust voor het oog!

Namesake Esther Dorhout Mees used to dance on big stages in London, Milan and Paris as a ballerina. Now she has put her energy and creativity into her new fall/ winter collection. Her old dance life was the inspiration source for ‘Ballets Russes’.

With ballet it’s all about femininity. That’s why her new collection has beautiful details like big, hanging bows and downward lines. Silk in combination with crêpe georgette is one of the luxurious fabrics she used. The whole collection has besides the basic colours black and grey, also typical soft colours which are characteristic for ballet as soft pink and ivory.

Trousers with a high waist, flowy dresses and exceptional jumpsuits. All items are closed tightly around the body but there are also separate elements that are draped beautifully around the body.

The collection is a feast for the eyes!
