Special celebrity shoe auction

Altijd al in de schoenen willen staan van Sarah Jessica Parker, Vivienne Westwood of Sienna Miller? Vanaf 8 oktober hoeft dit geen droom meer te zijn, want zij veilen hun favoriete schoenen voor het goede doel: Small Steps.

Small Steps is een liefdadigheidsorganisatie, opgericht door voormalig celebrity journalist Amy Hanson, die zich inzet voor kinderen in arme landen. Hanson zegt: ‘Toen ik naar Cambodja ging, was ik getuige van enorme stortplaatsen waar kinderen op zoek gingen naar spullen om te verkopen om hun familie te ondersteunen’. Het goede doel ontwikkelt speciale laarzen zodat de kids zich niet verwonden tijdens het lopen en werken op de vuilnisbelten. Het geld dat de veiling zal opleveren gebruiken ze om de kinderen naar school te kunnen sturen.

Naast de eerstgenoemde celebrity’s zullen ook Eva Green, Colin Firth en Sophie Dahl hun muiltjes gaan veilen. Ook bekende modemerken Louis Vuitton, Calvin Klein en Christian Louboutin zijn aanwezig.

Always wanted to walk in the shoes of Sarah Jessica Parker, Vivienne Westwood and Sienna Miller? From 8 October this doesn’t have to be only a dream anymore, because their favourite shoes are in an auction for a charity: Small Steps.

Small Steps is a charitable institution, founded by former celebrity journalist Amy Hanson, who now puts her devotion to children in poor countries. Hanson says: ‘When I was in Cambodia, I was a witness of huge dumping-grounds where children were searching for stuff to sell to support their family’. The charity develops special boots so that these kids don’t have to get hurt walking and working on these rubbish-dumps. The money of the auction will be used to send the children to school.

Besides the first mentioned celebrity’s Eva Green, Colin Firth and Sophie Dahl will also auction their shoes. Famous fashion brands Louis Vuitton, Calvin Klein and Christian Louboutin will be present too.
