New York Fashion Week - Part 2

Natuurlijk waren er nog meer bekende ontwerpster die The Big Apple verrasten met hun nieuwe collecties. Hier lees en zie je alles over de nieuwste collecties van Marc Jacobs, Donna Karan en Carolina Herrera.

Marc by Marc Jacobs – Lente/ Zomer 2012 

De bezoekers op de front row werden tijdens deze show verblind door prachtige, vrolijke neonkleuren. Marc Jacobs koos voor een spectaculaire opening waarbij het model verscheen in een feloranje jurk, maar ook de mannelijke modellen wandelden in neonkleurige pakken over de catwalk. Hij heeft gekozen voor strakke ontwerpen zonder prints en gecompliceerde constructies, maar wel met een sportieve touch. Naast de neon kleuren kwam er nog meer voorbij, namelijk oranje, rood, blauw, wit en kaki. De outfits werden afgemaakt met onder andere jaren-tachtig sneakers en zonnecaps.

Donna Karan – Lente/ Zomer 2012 

Karan heeft zich laten inspireren door Haïti. Na een lange periode op het eiland te zijn geweest om mensen te helpen door het Haïtiaanse meesterschap bekendheid te geven, verscheen er een lading van tribal- en geverfde prints op de catwalk. Alle kledingstukken waren gebaseerd op de ontwerpen van kunstenaar Philippe Dodard, afkomstig uit de Haïtiaanse hoofdstad Port-au-Prince. Haar kleurenpalet bestond uit aardse tinten zoals kaki, beige en bruin, maar ook wit en zwart. De accessoires waren voornamelijk houten armbanden en sandalen.

Carolina Herrera – Lente/ Zomer 2012 

Ontwerpster Carolina Herrera haalde haar inspiratie uit de Bauhaus-beweging waardoor er een vrouwelijke collectie is ontstaan. Lineaire motieven, art deco-borduursels en motieven uit de jaren ’30 in de vorm van doorschijnende items en crêpejurkjes bestormen de catwalk. En ook zij koos voor dé trend: hooggesloten kragen. De kleuren? Lichtblauw, wit, rood, zwart, beige en bruin. Ze maakte de outfits af door gebruik te maken van grote armbanden, tailleriemen, sandalen en satijnen sjaaltjes.

Marc by Marc Jacobs – Spring/ Summer 2012 

The visitors on front row were blinded during this show by the gorgeous, bright neon colours. Marc Jacobs choose for a spectacular opening where the model showed up in bright orange dress, but also the male models walked in neon coloured suits over the catwalk. He chose for tight designs without prints and complicated constructions, but he did give it a sporty touch. Besides the neon colours there were more that came by, namely orange, red, blue, white and kaki. The outfits were finished with among others sneakers from the eighties and sun cap.

Donna Karan – Spring/ Summer 2012 

Karan was inspired by Haiti. After she has been on the island for a long period to help the people to get a name for the Haitian craftsmanship, there appeared a load of tribal- and painted prints on the catwalk. All clothing pieces were based on the designs of the artist Philippe Dodard, from the Haitian capital city Port-au-Prince. Here colour palette existed out of earth tones like kaki, beige and brown, but also white and black. The accessories were mainly wooden bracelets and sandals.

Carolina Herrera – Spring/ Summer 2012 

Designer Carolina Herrera got her inspiration from the Bauhaus-movement through which true femininity emerged. Linear prints, art deco-embroidery and patterns from the thirties in the shape of transparent items and crepe dresses that stormed over the catwalk. And she also choose the big trend: high-necked collars. The colours? Light blue, white, red, black, beige and brown. She completed the outfits by using big bracelets, waist belts, sandals and satin scarf’s.
