Fairy tale collection by Michael Barnaart van Bergen

Dankzij ontwerper Michael Barnaart van Bergen kunnen wij sprookjesachtig de zomer van 2012 in. Hij heeft zijn knitwear en couture collectie gepresenteerd in de Mesdag balzaal van het Hilton hotel in Den Haag. Een unieke collectie die werd gepresenteerd in de balzaal die was omgetoverd naar een waar sprookjesbos.

De knitwear collectie is geïnspireerd door het strandleven van de jaren ’20 van de vorige eeuw. Hierdoor is er een collectie ontstaan met zwierige jurkjes, elegante jumpsuits met bijpassende accessoires zoals de flaphoed. De Haagse ontwerper heeft ervoor gezorgd dat de items draagbaar en stylish zijn. Je kan het dragen naar je werk, naar het strand of tijdens een feest. Alles is verkrijgbaar vanaf het voorjaar van 2012 via de online shop van Michael Barnaart van Bergen. 

De sprookjesachtige couture collectie is een moderne versie van Doornroosje. Echter zijn het kleurenpalet en de silhouetten gebaseerd op Middeleeuwse wandtapijten. Michael Barnaart van Bergen zegt: ’Het naïeve perspectief, platte vlakken en het grote gebruik van kleuren heeft mij geïnspireerd tot een collectie die oogt als een idyllische kijkdoos die vanavond tot leven kwam’. De collectie bestaat uit jurken met abstracte printen, pofmouwen en strapless japonnen die worden afgemaakt met bloemcorsages, hoeden en fascinators. De laatste twee ontworpen door ontwerper Berry Rutjes Jr.

Thanks to designer Michael Barnaart van Bergen we can present ourselves in fairy tale style in the summer of 2012. He showed his knitwear and couture collection in the Mesdag ballroom of the Hilton hotel in The Hague. An unique collective that was presented in the ballroom that was magically transformed into a fairy tale forest.

The knitwear collection is inspired by the beach life of the twenties of the previous century. Because of this the collection exists out of dashing dresses, elegant jumpsuits with matching accessories like the slouch hat. The Hague designer made sure that the items are wearable and stylish at the same time. You can wear them to work, to the beach or during a party. Everything is available from the spring of 2012 true the online shop of Michael Barnaart van Bergen. 

The fairy tale couture collection is the modern version of Sleeping Beauty. However the colour palette and silhouettes are based on the medieval wall carpets. Michael Barnaart van Bergen says: ‘The naïve perspective, the flat surfaces and the major use of colours inspired me to the collection that seems an idyllic show-box that came to life this evening’. The collection exists out of dresses with abstract prints, puffed sleeves and strapless dresses finished with flower corsages, hats and fascinators. The last two were designed by designer Berry Rutjes Jr.
