London: World’s fashion capital of the year

Dit jaar viel de stad Londen in de prijzen voor ‘World’s fashion capital of the year’. Dankzij onder andere een prachtige ‘royal wedding’ met stijlicoon Kate Middleton mag London zich dit jaar modehoofdstad noemen.

De grote verliezer is de bruisende stad New York die jarenlang aan de top heeft gestaan. De Engelse hoofdstad kwam veel in media waardoor zij dit jaar de gelukkige winnaar zijn. Naast het huwelijk was de kledinglijn van de overleden Alexander McQueen succesvol, dankzij het voorzetten van Sarah Burton. Zij ontwierp de prachtige trouwjurk voor de ‘Duchess of Cambridge’. Maar er komen ook nog een aantal fashionable gebeurtenissen zoals de opening van de allereerste boetiek van het Franse modelabel Isabel Marant en de winkel van United Nude.

De top vijf van de modestad lijst bestaat uit Parijs, Milaan, New York en Los Angeles. Amsterdam staat op de 19^e plaatst.

The big loser is the vibrant city New York who has been on top for years. The English capital was in the media a lot this year so they became the lucky winner. Besides the marriage was the clothing line of the deceased Alexander McQueen successful, thanks to the pursue of Sarah Burton. She designed the gorgeous wedding dress for the duchess of Cambridge. But there are also some fashionable events coming up like the very first boutique from French fashion label Isabel Marant and the opening of the store United Nude.

The top five of the fashion capital list exists out of Paris, Milan, New York and Los Angeles. Amsterdam is on the 19^th place.
