Rumour: H&M will launch a luxury label

H&M kennen wij allemaal van de betaalbare kleding en accessoires met prachtige limited edition collecties van bekende ontwerpers en celebrities. De geruchten gaan nu rond dat de mode keten een luxe en duur label wil gaan lanceren!

De Zweedse krant Dagens Industri laat weten dat hoofddesigner Behnaz Aram van H&M New Business druk bezig is met een nieuw project. Hij zou hiermee merken als Cheap Monday en Cos aftroeven en op deze manier een nieuw label willen ontwerpen die luxueuzer zal worden dan hen.

Ook de woordvoerder Charlotta Nemlin van H&M laat weten aan WWD: “We zijn constant op zoek naar nieuwe ideeën, dat is een normaal onderdeel van ons werk. Maar er is nog niks waar we op dit moment over kunnen praten”.

Er nog niks bevestigt maar voor H&M zal het geen moeilijke opgave worden om een luxe label te lanceren dankzij de kennis die zij hebben vanwege de samenwerkingen met onder andere Karl Lagerfeld en Marni.

We all know H&M from their affordable clothing and accessories with their beautiful limited edition collections with famous designers and celebrities. The rumour now goes that the fashion chain will launch a luxurious and expensive label!

The Swedish newspaper Dagens Industri lets us know that the head designer Behnaz Aram from H&M New Business is working on a new project. True which he wants to outdo Cheap Monday and Cos and designing a new label that will be even more luxurious then theirs.

Also spokesperson Charlotta Nemlin from H&M lets WWD know: “We are constantly looking for new ideas, that is a normal part of our job. But there is nothing we can talk about at the moment”.

So nothing is confirmed but for H&M it will not be such a hard task to launch a luxury label thanks to the knowledge they have with their collaboration with among others Karl Lagerfeld and Marni.
